MICK WILSON

Managing Director

Mick is the founder and owner of WPF. Over the past 20 years, he has overseen the growth of the business into a respected multi-discipline service provider to Oil & Gas and resource industry partners, both in Australia and overseas. Mick has developed a wealth of knowledge in the Oil and Gas sector with a particular interest in offshore/onshore environments.

Mick is well respected in the industry and his company is well known for its quality control, safety ethics, technical engineering and fabrication expertise. His leadership has enabled the company to grow and become recognised as one of Western Australia’s premium offshore/onshore Oil and Gas service providers.

CEDRIC COMLEY

Engineering Manager

B.Tech Mechanical Engineering (Port Elizabeth Technikon); International Welding Technologist (IWT).

Cedric is the Engineering Manager at WPF.

He brings to the position over 25 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, mainly specialising in the manufacture, inspection, disposition, repair and recertification of capital drilling equipment (CDE). His areas of expertise include subsea wellhead housings and conductors, guide bases, wellhead connectors, blowout preventers, marine drilling risers and associated equipment.

Cedric has a special interest in welding engineering and has extensive knowledge and experience of the application and welding of materials specific to the Oil & Gas Industry.

MITCHELL WILSON

Senior Project Manager

Mitchell commenced work as an apprentice with WPF 13 years ago and is a qualified Boilermaker, Coded Welder & Pipe fitter.  After qualifying, Mitchell worked on many of our client’s assets including the Stag, Wandoo A & Wandoo B platforms, Varanus Island, Devil Creek Gas Plant and various Dampier to Bunbury Pipeline sites.  The experience gained on these sites has proved invaluable in later life running various projects at WPF.

After years of hard work on the tools, and having had extensive exposure to the workings of the Oil & Gas industries, the natural progression for Mitchell was into a Project Management Role.  Here he oversaw various projects from start to finish.  This included handling of initial enquiries, tendering, QA-QC documentation development, procurement, project execution and delivery.

As Senior Project Manager, Mitchell continues to oversee large and small scale projects as well as supervising and mentoring other Project Managers.  Included in Mitchell’s project management activities are on-site project support services and equipment supply.

Mitchell’s hands on experience has given him that vital edge in truly understanding the nature of the work and methodologies involved in executing a project.

The building of trust and good honest client relationships has been key to his success in this role.

STUART TENNANT

Quality Assurance Manager

BSc Mechanical Engineering (University of Cape Town); MEng Sc Petroleum Engineering (University of New South Wales)

Stuart is also a Senior Engineer at WPF with experience in the inspection, disposition, repair and testing of various items of capital drilling equipment such as marine risers, wellheads, choke & kill and “drill-through” equipment.

Stuart started his career as a Drilling Engineer for Southern Oil Exploration Corporation (SOEKOR) on board the Secdo K and Sedco 708 off the South African coast.  He then went on to become engineering Manager at Algoa Oil & Pipeline Services in South Africa.

After moving to Australia, Stuart worked as a Senior Engineer/Offshore Manager for Helix Well Ops doing riserless subsea well intervention and subsea field abandonment on the Australian North West Shelf and Timor Sea.

Prior to joining WPF, he was Engineering Manager at Matrix Offshore Services & Engineering.

BRAYDEN WILSON

Production Manager

Brayden commenced work as an apprentice Boilermaker, Coded Welder & Pipe fitter with WPF and has been with the company for 12 years.

After qualifying, Brayden worked on many of our client’s assets including the Stag, Wandoo A & Wandoo B platforms, Varanus Island, Devil Creek Gas Plant and various Dampier to Bunbury Pipeline sites.  the experience gained on these sites has proved invaluable in later life running the WPF production facility.

After years of hard work on the tools, the natural path forward for Brayden was into the roll of Workshop Supervisor and later, that of Production Manager where he oversees all aspects of production from incoming materials control, fabrication & welding, assistance with the QA-QC traceability requirements, logistics & loadout supervision as well as subcontractor management.

Now an experienced Production Manager overseeing the execution of both large and small scale projects, Brayden is always setting the standard when it comes to health and safety on site.  His insistence on a strong safety-first culture is borne out by our excellent safety record.

Brayden’s main focus at the moment is on the introduction of innovative work practices and optimising workshop productivity and profitability.  His practical experience and excellent people skills are some of the reasons why he has excelled in this position.
